Howdy again!

On my redhat system I used to have FakeAP up and running, and I thought it would be good to get it going on Auditor again, and I've gotten it to work. !

You need a Prism2/2.5/3 card for this to work.

To get it up and running in Auditor:

  1. Download FakeAP, and extract it to a folder of your preference.
  2. Open up a console window and type in "switch-to-hostap" and eject and re-insert your wirless card.
  3. In the konsole window, type in "iwconfig [interface name] mode master", without the inverted commas, and replace [interface name] with your wirelessinterface name, which would typically be wlan0 if you only use 1 card. This command puts the card in Access Point mode, which had me stuck for a while when trying to get the script going.
  4. Now type in "perl fakeap.pl --interface [interface name] and hit enter.

You should now see the script running, and producing fake access points.

If you read the Readme file that comes with the FakeAP archive, you can make extensive lists of Access Point names and MAC Addresses to use with the software.
